TEPCO Extends LNG Purchase Contract With ConocoPhillips And Marathon Oil

Tokyo Electric Power Company, Inc. (TEPCO) has extended liquefied natural gas (LNG) purchase agreement with ConocoPhillips and Marathon Oil Corporation (Marathon Oil) by two years to March 2011, Dow Jones Newswires reported. The agreement got expired on March 31, 2009. Since 1969, TEPCO has purchased 918,000 metric tons a year of LNG from Kenai plant. The plant is located in Alaska, US.
"TEPCO hasn't yet decided on any sources of supply to succeed the Alaskan LNG, following the two-year period, for the three terminals receiving the gas", a company spokesman said.
The Kenai LNG plant is owned by ConocoPhillips and Marathon Oil.
