PGN Signs MoU With EEES For Sale And Purchase Of LNG

PT Perusahaan Gas Negara (Persero) Tbk (PGN) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Energy Equity Epic Sengkang Pty Ltd (EEES) for sale and purchase liquefied natural gas (LNG). As per the MoU, LNG will be sourced from Sengkang PSC block in South Sulawesi, which is planned for LNG receiving terminal to be built by PGN. The company will get LNG from blocks operated by EEES, with a total volume between 1.5-5 ton per year.

Utilization of LNG is intended to meet the needs of the domestic gas and will be distributed from 2012 with a duration of five year.

"PGN endeavored to obtain natural gas supplies to meet needs in the country. Volume of distribution is increasing in semester of this year and the MoU signed on this day shows these efforts "said Hendi Prio Santoso, president director of PGN. "Considering the many positive impacts for the industry and national economy, naturally if PGN is given priority to get the allocation of natural gas supply for use in country."
