El Paso Announces Management Changes

El Paso Corporation (El Paso), a company engaged in providing natural gas and related energy products, said that its board has appointed Doug Foshee as its chairman. Foshee served as president and chief executive officer ever since joining the company in 2003. The appointment of Foshee follows the retirement of Ronald L. Kuehn who served as chairman of El Paso since 2003. In addition, the board has chosen J. Michael Talbert to serve as lead director.

Talbert held the position of director in El Paso since 2003. He is also a director of Transocean Ltd, where he earlier served as chairman and chief executive officer. He also served as chairman of the board of The Offshore Drilling Company, president and chief executive officer of Lone Star Gas Company and president of Texas Oil & Gas Company.

At the meeting all 11 nominated directors were chosen for a term of one year. Ten of El Paso's 11 directors are independent, as defined by NYSE listing requirements.
