CSL Engineering Secures Contracts In UK North Sea And Gulf Of Mexico

Published: 21-Oct-2009

CSL Engineering, a subsea project management and engineering company, has announced award of contracts by Lundin Britain Limited (Lundin Britain) and Marathon Oil Corporation (Marathon Oil). CSL Engineering is providing project management, engineering and commercial support services to Lundin Britain to deliver a new 10” production pipeline between an existing subsea tie-back and a platform located in the UK sector of the Northern North Sea.

Since July 2009, CSL Engineering has brought the project from the preliminary stages through the design phase resulting in the recent award of an engineering, procurement, installation and commissioning (EPIC) contract. The project is due for completion in second quarter of 2010.

The company’s Houston operation has secured a contract to provide TTR (Top Tensioned Riser) engineering validation and installation support to Marathon Oil's Ozona project, a subsea tieback to Royal Dutch Shell Plc’s Auger tension leg platform in the Gulf of Mexico. The projects are worth about GBP1.5 million to CSL Engineering.

Mark Gillespie, CSL Engineering managing director, says: “The fast track nature of the project is testament to the commitment, dedication and partnership approach the Lundin Britain and CSL team has demonstrated during the initial stages of this work. CSL has supported Lundin assets since 2006 and we’re delighted to continue to develop our relationship on the back of the good work our subsea operations support team has delivered to date.”

Bill Washington, CSL Engineering general manager in the US says: “We look forward to supporting Marathon from our Houston base which has greatly increased our ability to participate actively in the market since becoming operational earlier this year.”

CSL Engineering is a wholly owned subsidiary of DOF Subsea.
